Love and connection with others is the foundation that life is built upon. When we feel seen, understood, and valued by another person it makes the rest of the world more manageable. This attachment happens between partners when we can turn toward each other and feel completely safe and know that we are not alone. Relationships start out with this hope. But for many couples disagreement and conflict over time diminishes this feeling of connection, the sense of oneness. When there is discord in our relationships it can leave us feeling alone and excruciatingly vulnerable. And the more couples try and fail to reconnect the more isolating our relationships become.
It can feel hopeless sometimes to try and repair a connection when so much hurt has been exchanged. Seeking outside support in that process has helped many couples restore the trust in their relationships. As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist I want to offer inspiration, direction and motivation to bring safety and affection back into your life together. I offer marriage counseling and individual therapy for struggles in pregnancy, postpartum, and experiencing infertility.
I’m here to help.

LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF
I am the owner and sole counselor at Talk Remedy Therapy. Counseling and therapy are a very personal experience and you should feel accepted and supported throughout. I want you to feel positively about counseling because you should live your life to the fullest.
New mommas and moms-to-be should know that there is no shame in seeking out therapy for struggles during pregnancy and postpartum. Anxiety, depression, and OCD during the perinatal period are so much more commonly experienced than we realize. There is so much excitement and anticipation during this time that many moms start asking themselves “What’s wrong with me? Why can’t I just be happy?” It is normal to feel a wide range of emotions, but if you are feeling distressed I want you to have hope that things can get better.
In marriage counseling I never want spouses to feel judged or ganged up on. Rather, I suggest you think of me as you would a team coach. You and your spouse are the only members of the team called “Us” and I am here to guide you so that you draw each other closer instead of push each other farther away. Sometimes I will correct you if it’s helpful, but I focus most on encouraging and teaching helpful behaviors that we know strengthen the bonds between partners.
Ways we can connect

face-to-face appointments
*Because of concerns for continued spreading of the Corona virus, at this time all sessions are offered through a secure and HIPPA compliant Telehealth App.
I practice out of a beautiful office located in downtown Rochester, Michigan. I meet face-to-face with couples located nearby. My building is on University Drive just west of Main street. You can visit the ‘Contact me’ page for address information and a map of my location.
I take appointments weekdays between 10 AM and 7 PM Eastern Standard Time.
secure video tele-therapy
I arrange to meet remotely with couples and new parents located outside of the north Oakland region. I use a secure and HIPPA compliant network to meet by video while always protecting your privacy. It’s as simple as downloading an app on your phone. Click the ‘I’m Interested’ button below and send me any questions you have about this.
